Sunshine Foundation, Inc.

Sunshine Foundation, Inc. was established in 1984 to improve the quality of life of the individuals with developmental disabilities and their families served by Sunshine Inc. of Northwest Ohio. The vast majority of Sunshine, Inc.'s funding comes from state and federal sources.

However, these funds do not provide the extras needed by the more than 900 people we serve. From special communication devices to wheelchair-accessible play equipment to major construction projects, the Foundation and its supporters are there to provide needed programs, projects and personnel. The Foundation's endowment fund helps ensure that Sunshine's high-quality services will continue in an era of uncertain government funding. Private donations of all kinds are critically important to Sunshine's future.

Each year, the Foundation benefits from three major special events: The Black Swamp Benefit Bazaar in June, the Adopt-a-Charity Golf Scrambles in July and the Walk with Sunshine in September. Detailed information about these events is available on the Foundation’s web site.

So whether you'd like to volunteer some time or contribute needed supplies or make a major financial donation, we'd like to talk to you about how your gifts can bring a little sunshine into the lives of those with mental retardation and developmental disabilities.
